Carved through pine forests and punctuated with breathtaking views of Lake Superior, Madeline Island Golf Club offers the public the opportunity to play one of Robert Trent Jones’ most beautiful and challenging masterpieces of golf course design (one of only two Robert Trent Jones courses in Wisconsin). Boasting huge double greens on most holes, this links-style course, a favorite style of Jones, provides a demanding, enjoyable test for golfers of all skill levels. Trek & Trail works closely with the Inland Sea Society to preserve Lake Superior’s pristine waters, and the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve to encourage the protection of vulnerable international areas.

Join Us for an Adventure! We offer dog sled excursions that take you over frozen Lake Superior or through the forested trails of Madeline Island. Let us guide you through the magic of this enchanted winter dreamscape. Mush your own dog sled team or sit back and enjoy the beauty of a winter day. This is an experience that you will never forget! Your adventure begins as you arrive on the island by ferry, wind sled or driving the ice road. It is a short 2.3 mile trip to your jump off point - The Island Inn (on Madeline Island). You may choose a trip that circles Basswood Island on Lake Superior or through the wooded trails of the island. Some have even gotten married on the Lake!

GRAND TOUR
Our most popular cruise travels 55 miles through the 22 Apostle Islands, and includes views of historic Raspberry and Devils Island Lighthouses and the famous Devils Island Sea Caves. Your Captain's narration reveals rich heritage, geology, legends and lore, as you admire the scenics of this pristine National Lakeshore.
ISLANDER LIGHTHOUSE CRUISE
Cruise to the Raspberry Island lighthouse for a view from the boat and enjoy the scenics while passing Bassword, Madeline, Hermit, Stockton and Oak Island. See brownstone quarries, "Honeymoon Rock",and some of the most alluring shoreline the National Lakeshore has to offer.
LIGHTHOUSES & SEA CAVES CRUISE
This cruise takes you through the inner islands, past the Raspberry and Sand Island lighthouses, and continues westward to the mainalnd sea caves at Mawikwe Bay. Scenery at the caves is among the National Lakeshore's most beautiful, followed by sunsets over open Lake Superior on the return cruise.
EVENING GRAND TOUR
Relax and spend your evening aboard ISLAND PRINCESS. This cruise is comparable to our popular morning Grand Tour, but it's offered in the evening for spectacular photographs and awesome Lake Superior sunsets.
STOCKTON / MICHIGAN LIGHTHOUSE SHUTTLE
Stockton Island has long been a favorite for picnicking, beachcombing and camping. Michigan Island is home to the first - and the last - light towers built in the Apostle Islands. On this excursion choose to visit Stockton Island OR Michigan Island Lighthouse.
